Synopsis

This movie tells the story of a speck of dust carried by the wind to follow his destiny into the jungle of Nool. There live a cheerful elephant, his name is “Horton”. The speck of dust floats past him in the air, with his big ear, he hears a small yelp coming from it. It turns out that the point of the dust has a life. That dust is home to the “Whos” residents who live in the city of “Whoville”. Horton finds out the speck harbors the city of Whoville and its inhabitants, led by Mayor Ned McDodd. To save Whoville from danger, Horton desided to save the speck atop Mt. Nool, the safest place in the jungle.Horton is very proud that he could help the citizens of Whoville to get a better place for their lives. But his struggle obstructed by animals in the jungle of Nool. They are think Horton was considered crazy because he believes a life in a speck of dust. But Horton still struggling to help the Whos and keep  their lives from the animals of the jungle Nool. And the resident of Whoville try to make the animals hear their voice.

Character

Horton                  : He is an elephant, he is smart, friendly,and  kind elephant

Ned McDodd     : He is the mayor of Whoville city

Kangaroo             : Animals of jungle Nool who hate with Horton, she is arogant

Morton mouse : A mouse,Horton’s Best friend,he is kind and belive in Horton

Jojo                        : He is Mayor’s lovely son, he is silent boy

Sally                       : she is mayor’s wife

Vlad Vladikoff    : a vulture, he is very ferocious and cruel

The story

Introduction

One day, Horton the elephant hears a cry of help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton finds out the speck harbors the city of Whoville and its inhabitants, led by Mayor Ned McDodd. He has a wife, Sally , 96 daughters, and one teenage son named JoJo. Mayor Ned McDodd want Jojo to be the next in line for the ayoral position,but he doesn’t want to be a mayor. In the jungle, there is a kangaroo,this kangaroo very hate Horton because Horton teach the children in that jungle,and she don’t believe any thing that Horton said.

Climax

The mayor of Whoville afraid his city will destroyed,because they are only in a speck of dust. The mayor ask Horton to keep them and bring them to the best place for them. Horton agrees to help and  protect the Whos and their home, but this gives him nothing because mockery from his neighbors,that is kangaroo who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck. The kangaroo often try  to ask  Horton give up the speck of dust, but Horton still struggling to keep it and must put the dust to the best place for Whoville because it is his responsible. At last, the furious kangaroo ask a vulture to get destroy the speck.

Resolution

 Horton stands by the motto for protect that whoville. But a vulture take the speck from him. He is very angry and run to get it back,but a vulter drops the speck to other many flower. That make Whoville feel big quake. Horton try to find it and at last he get it from the many flower. The kangaroo ask other animals to kill the speck. They don’t believe him, and the resident of whoville and the mayor try to make a big sound to the animals know they are there,that voice ”we are here”. Every one in that city as well as playing a variety of instruments, so the animals may hear them. But the animals can’t to hear their voice, the kangaroo slowly drops the speck towards the boiling  oil. At the last minute, JoJo scream to the sky,and the kangaroo’s child can to hear that voice,so he take it and give it back to Horton. And all animal can hear whoville voice,and they believe that.

Language Expression

Panic

Moral Value

Moral value from this story are, we must think about other people,not only think about our self. Can we see from this movie, Horton will do every thing to keep Whos. Because we are can’t to do every thing alone,and maybe letter one day we will need some help from other people.

And we have to be patient in every thing happend,and always positive thinking. Because Horton is very pation however his neighbors hate with him or tell if he is crazy.

Last, if we want to get something,we must be struggle and never give up to get it. Horoton also never give up to keep Whos,and last he got happy ending because he did it.

Comment

This story is very good, bacause we can learn every thing here,and this film can be sample for children to have love with other people. For example Horton love with Whos although he don't know they are before.  And he keeps struggling to help them.

This film also creative because we can't imagine that in a dust has a life.
